Oh, I love Sundays! It’s my favorite day of the week because it gives me the chance to recharge and refresh.

Having a Sunday reset is super-duper important, I cannot stress it enough.

If you are wondering what it means, a “Sunday reset” is what I like to call my personal “me day” — a day dedicated to self-care, planning for the week ahead, and catching up on those chores, especially the laundry that’s been piling up all week— yes girl, I know about it—- but no judgment here because I’m also guilty of it too!

Let’s face it — weekdays can be stressful. There is so much that happens during the week that requires your energy, it can be work, school with its demanding assignments, or running your business.

That’s why a Sunday reset is so important. You need that time to step back and recharge so that you can be more productive throughout the week.

A Sunday reset helps you recalibrate, refresh, and refill your energy so you can give your best during the week.

Here is a quick sunday reset essentials guide of everything you need.

If you’re always feeling tired or falling behind schedule, it might be because you haven’t taken time to care for yourself. Our bodies endure a lot, so they deserve love and appreciation.

If you’ve never had a Sunday reset before, trust me, you need it. It’s more than just a routine; it’s a lifesaver that helps you plan, prep, and rejuvenate for the week to come. Once you start, you’ll wonder why you didn’t begin sooner!

Today, I’m going to walk you through my most-requested Sunday reset routine. I’ll guide you step by step through the process to help you achieve a successful reset that will leave you feeling accomplished by the end of the day. So let’s get right into it.

sunday reset

1. Wake up early

The first step to a productive day is waking up early. It sets the tone for everything you want to achieve. There’s so much to do and so much to accomplish, so start strong.

Prepare yourself—go to bed early on Saturday, set your alarm, and get your mind ready for a Sunday reset. Don’t stay in bed past 9 a.m.—rise and shine, and make the most of your day!

2. Make a list

I’m not going to lie, Sunday resets can be packed with so many activities that it’s hard to keep track of everything. Sometimes, it feels like there’s just too much to juggle, and it’s easy to forget tasks and fall short of our goals.

We’re only human, and there’s only so much our brains can handle. That’s why it’s important to give our brains a little help by staying organized and finding ways to manage the chaos.

So here’s what I advise you to do. Grab a planner, or a piece of paper, or open the note app on your phone and write out every single task that needs to be completed for the day. Yes, everything- don’t leave anything out.

Writing down tasks keeps you accountable and prevents you from forgetting anything important. It also relieves you of the mental load by giving you a clear reminder of what needs to be done. This will help you refocus on the tasks throughout the day.

Pro tip ~ Always ensure to check off any task before going to the next!

3. Hydrate

Sis, you need to hydrate!

Hydration in this routine is very important. Aside from dreading the preparation for the hectic Monday, There’s nothing worse than waking up with an awful headache on a Monday morning. Only because you didn’t drink enough water over the weekend.

Hydrating isn’t just about quenching your thirst—it’s essential for your body. It kick-starts your metabolism, improves brain function, boosts energy levels, and flushes out toxins.

It sets the tone for the day and helps you stay focused and productive, especially when you’re planning and organizing your week.

So, darlings, fill up that water bottle or Stanley cup—whatever you’ve got—and start sipping.

Personally, I like to keep it simple. A glass of water with lemon is my go-to. It’s refreshing and helps me stay hydrated when drinking plain water feels like a chore. Plus, lemon adds a detoxifying boost, balances pH levels, and makes the water taste better.

My other favorite? Celery juice. Yes, I know the taste can be quite unpleasant, but hey, whatever the body needs, it gets! I don’t have a juicer, so I use a blender to blend the celery and strain it with a cheesecloth.

If you’re like me and only have a blender, don’t worry—that works perfectly. I’ll even drop a link to the blender I use; it’s super efficient and blends everything smoothly.

4. Make breakfast

Your breakfast should be delicious, light, and healthy. Eating heavy food or too much can make you tired and sleepy, which defeats the whole purpose of being productive.

I’m speaking from experience. I once thought since I had so much to do, it’d be best to have something heavy to fill me up and power through the day. Girl, I was so wrong! I ended up napping on the couch like a cat—too tired to do anything.

Don’t be like me! Last Sunday during my reset, I made this tasty Greek yogurt parfait with berries, nuts, and a drizzle of maple syrup. It was delicious, packed with protein, fiber, and healthy fats—exactly what your body needs in the morning.

Ensure your breakfast is light but enough to give you all the nutrients you need. Trust me, anything outside of that? 0/10, I do not recommend!

5. Time to work out

You can choose to go to the gym, work out at home, take a walk, or go for a run—it’s all about what you enjoy and feel comfortable with. I love Pilates and yoga, and I like to go to the gym during weekdays.

There’s something about exercising that makes you feel great, which is why I believe it should be an essential part of your Sunday reset routine.

While it can be challenging to find time during the weekdays, Saturdays are often for resting or hanging out, making Sundays the perfect opportunity for exercise.

If you manage to work out during the week, kudos to you! That’s something I definitely want to look into.

For my Pilates sessions, I mostly practice at home using my alo yoga mat and my lovely pink lounge set—pink is my favorite color! I typically exercise for 30 minutes to an hour, and then I’m ready for the next task.

6. Doing Chores

I usually start with my laundry because it is my least favorite chore—I actually don’t like it at all. By getting it done first, I can move on to other tasks more easily. I suggest starting with the hardest chore and then moving on to the easier ones.

After laundry, I change my sheets, clean the bathroom, wipe down cabinets and stovetops, clean the counters, vacuum and mop the floors, and take out the trash.

You don’t have to do everything I listed; it all depends on your strengths and preferences. Personally, I like to deep clean on Sundays, but you can choose to do more or less based on your schedule.

Recently, I got a under-sink organiser where I keep all my cleaning supplies. This area looked like a hot mess, so I had to do something about it.

7. Meal prep

Nobody has time to prepare meals every day of the week (and if you do, you must have superpowers!).

That’s why it’s important to prepare meals in food containers that can last at least three days and can be paired with other dishes, like rice.

Some of my favorites are sweet and sour chicken, quinoa salad with roasted vegetables, veggie and chicken stir-fry (yes, I love chicken!), and fruit parfait. Meal prepping helps save time and maintain a healthy diet during busy weekdays.

8. Shower Routine

Self-care is an opportunity to show yourself the love and attention you deserve. From skincare and hair care to oral care and a relaxing “everything shower,” a good routine can leave you feeling refreshed and glowing.

Before you start, set the mood by creating a playlist of your favorite songs—I recommend adding tracks by Ariana Grande, PinkPanthress, Britney Spears, and Lana Del Rey to make your experience even more enjoyable.

Indulge in an Everything Shower

Start with a warm shower or bath, and if you’re feeling fancy, add an exotic scrub for that spa-like experience.

My go-to luxury shower gel is linked here (feel free to check them out!).

Don’t forget to shave if that’s part of your routine. After stepping out, moisturize while your skin is still damp to lock in hydration, and finish with a nourishing body oil—I swear by this after-shower body oil for that silky smooth finish.

Pamper Your Face

Now it’s time for your skincare routine. I recommend starting with a deep cleanse and following up with your favorite toner and serum. Treat yourself to this sheet mask—they’re worth every penny and will leave your skin feeling refreshed and glowing.

Treat Your Hair

For hair care, start with a pre-poo treatment to nourish and prep your hair. After that, use a hydrating shampoo followed by a hair mask. Once rinsed out, apply a deep conditioner to restore moisture and softness, and finish with a leave-in conditioner. You’ll love how soft, shiny, and bouncy your hair feels after this.

Oral Care

Don’t forget to show your teeth some love. Start by flossing, then brush with your preferred toothpaste—I personally love using activated charcoal toothpaste. It whitens and cleanses without the harshness of whitening strips, giving me a bright smile without sensitivity.

Pamper Your Feet

Your feet work hard every day, so give them the attention they deserve with an at-home pedicure. Begin by soaking your feet in warm water with Epsom salt or essential oils.

Exfoliate to remove rough skin, then moisturize with a rich foot cream and lock it in by wearing cozy socks. Finish by trimming and filing your toenails, and give your feet a gentle massage to improve circulation.

9. Plan your week

Now hold on! I know you want to throw yourself on the bed and enjoy those freshly washed sheets, but don’t forget that you still need to plan your week.

Plus, you just did your skincare—laying on your bed or pillow right now might wipe away all that hard work and prevent your skincare from doing its job.

Essentially, you’d be treating your pillows to a skincare routine instead of your skin! Give your skincare some time to work its magic.

Planning your week is crucial for staying organized and focused. Entering a new week without a plan sets you up for confusion and chaos.

It’s essential to make a list!

Ask yourself what you need to accomplish in the week ahead and write everything down.

This list not only helps you remember what you need to do but also saves mental energy.

It allows you to prioritize tasks that require immediate attention, reducing the temptation to procrastinate and the stress that comes from leaving things to the last minute.

This is my favorite planner; I love it because it’s user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

In your planner, outline your tasks, appointments, and goals for the week. This sets the stage for a productive week ahead.

Take a moment to review your list, arrange the tasks in order of importance, and prioritize those that need to be done first. Schedule these tasks for the beginning of the week, leaving less critical ones for later.

Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t achieve all your goals. Remember, you’re human—give yourself grace!

Celebrate the goals you do accomplish, and if you didn’t meet any, still take a moment to celebrate. There’s always time to improve.

Get this Sunday Reset Checklist

A Sunday reset checklist can really help kickstart your week. By taking a little time to plan, organize, and take care of yourself, you’ll feel more prepared and energized.

Think of it as giving yourself a “Sunday recharge” to tackle Monday with confidence!

So go ahead, make the most of your Sundays. And remember, if you can organize your life in one day, you can conquer anything the week throws your way! You’ve got this bestie!
