As someone who is always single on February 14 – I hope to change that very soon – I was certain I was doomed to a gloomy Valentine’s Day. And needless to say, I used to dread February 14th.
Well, that was until I discovered Galentine’s Day through an absolutely stunning Galentine’s Day party decor on Instagram.
Shoutout to Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation for coining this genius idea, by the way, I’m thrilled that we now have a day to celebrate love and friendship with our favorite girlfriends and the amazing women in our lives.
Since then, planning a Galentine’s Day party has been one of my favorite traditions. The best thing about it is that there’s no limit to how creative you can get with your Galentine’s Day decorations.
That’s why I’m sharing some fabulous Galentine’s Day party decor ideas to help you set the perfect vibe for your celebration.
This way, you can save yourself from the endless online search for the perfect Galentine’s Day party decor idea. If you are ready, follow along and let’s turn your Valentine’s Day into a celebration of love and laughter.
1. Hey Girl
This Hey Girl Galentine’s Day basket idea is such a vibe because of its personal touch. Apart from being fun and stunning, it shouts out to your girl and gives her an idea of what she means to you.
But the best part is that they are also goodie baskets that come with sweets and other treats that – let’s be honest – we know every girl likes.
Bring a group of girls together, shout out to them and give them treats, and you will have succeeded in making their day.
You can always customize it with anything you can afford or if you have an extra few bucks, you can personalize each basket with something you know each girl will appreciate.

2. Picture Collage
Whoever came up with “a picture is worth a thousand words” ate with that saying.
Think about it: have you ever seen a picture and just knew what’s being communicated without words? Yeah, that’s how effective a picture can be. It can show sadness, joy, connection and even the complexity of humanity without words.
Now, let’s not get too psychological, but I’m sure you get what I mean. Do you want to let your girls know your memories together mean the world to you? Then consider decorating your venue with a Polaroid collage or just different pictures of your memories together.
Trust me, there is nothing that captures the heart and soul of a Galentine party decor more than this. You can spice up the day by getting a polaroid camera and a pink background and let your girls add snaps to the wall as the day goes on.
3. Heart-Shaped Dish Set
When you search through the net for Valentine’s Day party decor ideas, one thing you are likely to come across is heart-shaped items to commemorate the celebration of love. Thankfully, we can also use that for Galentine.
After all, Galentine is also a celebration of love – just a different kind. So, don’t be afraid to get a heart-shaped dish set for your dinner setting to show your guests it is indeed a celebration of love.
4. Wine Glasses Decor
What’s a Galentine’s Day party without bubbly wine in stunning wine glasses? But you know what’s better than that? Wine Glasses decor. Nothing screams chic more than this Galentine’s Day decor idea because it is removed from the ordinary.
Make sure to complement the setup with balloons, flowers and fun friends and you have a party city Valentine’s Day decor in your hands.
Yes, you are celebrating Galentine, but who says you can’t create a romantic yet playful vibe when celebrating with your female friends? By doing this, you are ensuring your friends don’t suffer from the FOMO that characterizes Valentine’s Day when you are single.
5. Dinner with Happy Galentine Plates
Again, thank you, Leslie Knope, now we have Galentine plates with “Happy Galentine Day” boldly written on them. So, instead of the usual table setting with an ordinary dinner set, use your Galentine plates as a testament to the celebration of the day.
Include nice candles, flowers, good food and games and you have one of the perfect Galentine’s Day decor ideas you can find.
6. Chugs and Kisses Party
If you need a decoration and a Galentine’s Day party theme, then you should definitely consider a Chugs and Kisses party. You could even make it a hashtag #chugsandkisses to make it fun.
Let your guests know they are coming to celebrate – get kisses from – other wonderful ladies and they are there to chug wine or whatever drink of the day it is.
7. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is not just a song, it is now a movement. There is nothing that channels the vibe of Galentine more than this saying. It speaks to the spirit of girls coming together to celebrate each other and have fun while at it.
Like the Chugs and Kisses idea, this is also a great way to get a theme for your party. And you don’t even have to do much: get your letter foil balloons, normal balloons, some flowers and decor cloth, and you are good to go.
8. Boy-Bye Light Decor
We don’t make the rules but Galentine Day is about celebrating girlhood and sisterhood. So, if you want to be literal, get your LED letter lights or even foil balloons and let your girls know it is all about them on Galentine.
Like the image below, add some balloons, flowers, and a nice table setting with some good food and you and your girls are set for a night of fun and laughter.
9. Backyard Picnic
This is personally one of my favorite Galentine’s Day party decor ideas because as much as I am a homebody, I enjoy outdoor parties with a few close friends surrounded by beautiful decorations.
If you are like me, then you are sure to love this party theme because it is not just casual, it’s also stunning.
With cute floor pillows to sit your guests, a gorgeous table setting and heart-shaped dishes, you cannot go wrong with this idea.
10. Matching Pajamas
This is another idea I love because, like I said, give me casual, give me stunning, and I am sold. Matching Pajamas were popularized by Christmas family pictures, but they have also always been a great idea for sleepover parties, and now, Galentine Day. Try this cute matching pink pyjamas set!
Honestly, they are always a vibe, especially when you’re celebrating with your favorite people. It helps create a cozy evening as everyone’s decked out in coordinating PJs, laughing, sipping on warm drinks, and snapping endless photos.
Plus, they’re perfect for those Instagram-worthy moments that scream, “We understood the assignment.”
And if you are not yet sold, you can’t go wrong with matching Pajamas if you are looking for a Galentine’s Day party decor DIY idea. The coordinated PJs already help with aesthetics; all you need to do is include some balloons and maybe flowers, and you are all set.
11. Field Picnic
If there’s something most women across all demographics love, it’s flowers. That’s why a Galentine’s Day picnic in a field or garden of flowers is pure magic.
This is a particularly great idea if you are on a budget and have access to a field of flowers or a flower garden.
I always say nature offers the best aesthetics; the best event decor really can’t beat it. All you have to do is spread out a soft blanket – or a table if you want to go all out – amidst the vibrant blooms and you already have a dreamy setting.
12. Kisses Decor
What’s better than greeting your girls with happy kisses as they each get to the party venue? Giving them huge kisses – that’s what.
This simple hugs and kisses decor reflects the spirit of Galentine, which is celebrating your female friendships. It is also stunning, creative and easy to recreate.
13. Mirror Selfie
If you have a decorative mirror in your house, complete the look by designing the area with some balloons and flowers and you have a gorgeous mirror selfie party. You can complete it with post-it notes like the image below with cute affirmations and you are good to go.
You are able to give your guests something beautiful to look at while treating them to the deliciousness of candies or cake.
Plus, what’s the best thing about girls coming together to have fun? Selfies! Let your guests have selfies as keepsakes that will make them remember your party for years to come.
14. Ice Cream Party
I am yet to find someone who doesn’t like ice cream – especially not a woman. So, when you invite women to an ice cream party with ice cream bowls serving as the major decoration, trust me when I say you will make their day.
If you have a small group and you are not on too tight a budget, you can customize each cup with their favorite flavor and toppings.
15. Dinner Setting
Ultimately, you can never go wrong with a dinner party for any event. It is up there as one of the top Valentine’s party decoration ideas for adults, but it also works for Galentine.
A dinner setup is not just fun, but it’s elegant and stunning. Decorate your table with the day’s color or red, pink and white; add some candles, wine glasses, and red ribbons, and you will have a cozy, chic, and lovely setup.
