These self care Saturday ideas will be all you need this weekend to focus on you! We all know how important it is to take some time for yourself and practice self-care.

So if you feeling stuck in a rut, or your everyday life is seeming mundane and uninspiring, then it might be time to shake things up a bit and find some self care activities that will help you romanticise your life.

And I’ve got you covered! Here are 107 ideas to help you have more fun and make every day a more enjoyable experience.

Whether you are looking for something fun, relaxing, or productive, or are just lost on how to practise self care on the weekend, there is something on this list that will fit your needs perfectly.

What Does Self Care Saturday Mean?

“Self Care Saturday” is a term that’s thrown around a lot these days, but what does it actually mean?

Well girlies, I hate to break it to you, but it’s not just about taking a luxurious bubble bath with a glass of wine (although, that’s definitely a perk).

It’s about taking a day to focus on yourself, your mental and physical health, all areas of life and doing things that bring you joy.

Maybe that means finally trying out that yoga class you’ve been eyeing, or choosing to invest in yourself even though it seems scary. Or maybe it means disconnecting from technology and spending the day reading a good book or going out in nature.

The point is, a self care Saturday is all about prioritising yourself for a change – and no it’s not selfish.

Self Care Myths

There’s no denying that Self-care has a lot of misconceptions surrounding it. Let’s debunk three of the most common self-care myths, shall we?

Myth #1: Self-care means spending money.

Sure, buying yourself something nice can boost your mood, but it doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank to practise self care. There are different aspects of self care that goes beyond physical.

Don’t get me wrong, treating yourself to a spa day or a fancy dinner is nice once in a while, but true self-care goes beyond material possessions. It can be as simple as taking a relaxing bath, reading a book, or going for a walk. In fact, some of the best self care practices are free or low-cost.

So, don’t let the pressure of social media or advertisements fool you into thinking that self-care is all about spending money. As they say, the best things in life are free – including a little self love and care.

Myth #2: Self-care looks the same for everyone.

Just like how no two fingerprints are alike, neither are self-care routines.

Some people may find peace in a face mask and bubble bath, while others may prefer a hike in the woods. Some may prefer an hour of meditation, while others may find happiness in baking cookies.

The point is, self-care is not a one-size-fits-all solution. So the next time someone tells you that you’re doing self-care wrong, just remember that they’re not you and what works for them may not work for you.

Myth #3: Self-care is selfish.

Taking care of yourself is anything but selfish. In fact, it’s necessary for a healthy and balanced life. We’ve all heard the phrase “self care is not selfish” and yet we still struggle with putting it into practice.

However, if we stop and think about it, taking care of ourselves is essential to being able to take care of others. It’s like the safety instructions on a plane: “put your own oxygen mask on first before assisting others.” You can’t pour from an empty cup, so it’s time to prioritize our own well-being.

And let’s not forget, there’s nothing selfish about a well-rested, stress-free, and happy person. So go ahead, indulge in that beauty routine or take that nap guilt-free. It’s time to put yourself first, because ultimately, everyone benefits.
