I first got into journal prompts for healing about 2 years ago when I made it a mission that I was going to love myself wholeheartedly, little did I know that the decision came with healing.
I never had a plan or any idea on what journal prompts to do for healing but I just went with the flow. If you are struggling to write, know that it will get easier with time. I scoured through my journal prompts to find prompts that will be useful for your healing and self-mastery.
Journaling can be great for those who can’t really afford therapy, see it as a form of self therapy.
These journal prompts for healing will be what you need starting out in the world of journaling. One of the best ways to heal is through writing.
Journal writing prompts will lead you to greater self-discovery for healing, especially if you’ve been through a recent breakup, childhood trauma or any trauma. It is particularly for those who want better for themselves.
You made it here because you are desperate to make a change in your life. Your future self will thank you and all the past versions of yourself will be happy that you believed in yourself enough to want change.

How do you start a self-love journal?
Starting a journal can be daunting especially if it’s your first time facing your emotions. I will guide you on how to go from beginner to expert at journalling. Firstly, have it at the back of your mind that you don’t have to have it perfectly written, let your words flow no matter how silly they may come across.
As with any other skill, it takes practice before you get comfortable so take that pressure off yourself and approach this as a fun exercise. All you need is a pen, an open mind and a notebook to get started.
I would also suggest adopting the writing exercise by Julia Cameron, Author of The Artist’s Way called the Morning Pages – a stream of consciousness journalling which involves filling out 3 pages of paper first thing every day.
If it helps start out writing for 5 mins especially in the A.M as that’s when the stream of consciousness is most active!
