Today, I will be talking about one of my favorite topics: feminine hygiene.
It is the foundation of being a true feminine woman.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about wearing designer clothes, carrying luxury bags, or rocking expensive jewelry.
It is all about how well we take care of our bodies.
Let’s think about this for a moment.
Imagine you are all dressed up and looking absolutely stunning: Outfit? Slayed, Makeup? Ate, Hair? Giving, Body? Tea.
But, beneath all that glamour, your hair smells and it’s greasy.
Or you have an unpleasant body odor.
Or you are in a conversation with someone and the person is struggling not to pass out because of your breath.
Now, that’s not very pleasant, is it?
The truth is, it is not all your fault.
Sometimes, it is simply because we don’t have the right information about how to properly care for ourselves.
Other times, we have been fed the wrong advice, and in trying to do good, we unknowingly do more harm than good.
That is exactly why I have put together this article to share practical, effective feminine hygiene tips that will help you feel fresh, clean, and proud of yourself from the inside out.
Get ready to learn juicy tips and tricks that will completely upgrade your hygiene game, and be prepared to unlearn a few habits along the way.
So, without further ado, let’s get started.
INTIMATE CARE
1. Wash Your Vjay Area

GET ITEM HERE
Starting strong, let’s talk about intimate care.
Whenever we hear or think of feminine hygiene, intimate care is usually the first thing that comes to mind.
First of all, you should avoid washing the inside your lady V.
This area is self-cleansing, and using any product internally can disrupt the natural pH balance and increase the risk of bacteria or yeast infection, and that’s not what we want here.
However, you can (and should), wash your vulva area (emphasis on vulva), using safe and unscented products.
As we go about our day, it is normal for sweat and discharge to build up, especially if we have pubic hair.
Over time, these build-ups can get trapped in our underwear, and by the end of the day, water alone might not be enough to thoroughly remove sweat, discharge, and other substances.
This is where a good vulva cleanser comes in.
Personally, my all-time favorite is the pH-balanced cleanser from Love Wellness.
It gets the job done without upsetting my feminine flora and keeps the normal pH of my lady V area intact.
My OBGYN actually recommended it to me, and ever since then, I have been completely hooked.
2. Take Probiotics

GET ITEM HERE
As a woman of reproductive age, you NEED probiotics: I can’t stress this enough.
Seriously, if you are not taking probiotics in 2025, I’m calling 911.
Probiotics contain beneficial bacteria called lactobacilli, which help maintain the natural balance of your lady’s V’s flora.
Not only that, but they also keep the v-jay slightly acidic, which makes it harder for harmful bacteria and yeast to grow.
So, if you are struggling with recurring infections, consider adding probiotics to as part of your treatment.
This is especially important when you are on antibiotics for infection down there, because while antibiotics fight the bad bacteria, they also wipe out the good ones.
Probiotics help restore that good bacteria population quickly, giving you a healthy, happy v-jay.
In addition, they can help eliminate strong or fishy odors, keeping you feeling fresh and confident.
Honestly, girl, the list of benefits is endless.
Bottom line: get yourself a good probiotic.
However if you are not a fan of supplements and prefer to use foods to heal your body.
Here is my almighty green juice recipe that is just as powerful as any powerful high quality probiotic.
This juice will heal your gut, clear your skin, detoxify and basically just transform your body.
PERIOD CARE
3. Invest In Period Panties

GET ITEM HERE
You should have a separate set of panties from your regular, everyday ones.
These are called period panties.
Why?
Because period panties come with leak-proof protection, allowing you to move freely and confidently without worrying about stains.
This is perfect for women who often get heavy periods.
4. Use Menstrual Cups

GET ITEM HERE
If you want to level up your feminine hygiene, you need menstrual cups.
No shade to pad or tampon users, but menstrual cups are the real GOAT!
As a former pad girlie, I constantly had to change my pads every three to four hours because of the smell.
Apart from the smell, pads can be so uncomfortable, especially if you have pubic hair.
And don’t even get me started on the leaks.
Then comes the constant washing of your underwear to remove stubborn blood stains (the nightmare).
But with menstrual cups, you don’t have to deal with all of that.
They last longer, hold more fluid, and eliminate the odor problem, giving you freedom and comfort for up to 8 to 12 hours.
5.Take Hormonal Support Supplements

GET ITEM HERE
Anything can disrupt our hormones balance.
Weight loss, birth control, weight gain, stress, environmental factors, and lack of quality sleep; you name it.
Most times, these things are out of our control.
That is why I recommend taking supplements or eating foods that can help support your hormonal health.
My favorite hormonal balance support supplement is from Perelel, it works wonders.
If you are dealing with PCOS, you will especially benefit from this supplement because it contains inositol.
This nutrient promotes healthy ovulation and helps regulate your menstrual cycle.
Additionally, it can reduce excess androgen levels, which in helps to clear up hormonal acne and reduce unwanted hair growth.
6. Wear Panty Liners

GET ITEM HERE
Have you ever experienced your discharge ruining your brand-new set of panties, especially that pretty one that is so close to your heart?
Yeah, me too. And honestly, it’s not funny at all.
The thing is, there’s nothing we can do about our discharge bleaching our panties.
It’s the way Lady V cleans herself and maintains her pH balance.
However, while we can’t stop her from doing her business, we can protect our underwear from the damage.
And that is where panty liners come in.
Just slap it on your underwear, and let it take the hit instead of your delicate panties.
7. Use Period Healing Patches Instead of NSAIDS

GET ITEM HERE
To all my girlies who don’t get cramps during their period?
How does it feel to be specially loved by Mother Nature?
I really envy y’all.
However, if you are a girl who deals with terrible cramps every month? Get in here, let’s talk.
Every month our uterus punishes us for not getting pregnant, like she is about to raise the baby herself.
Instead of groaning in pain or relying on over-the-counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin, which, by the way, can have dangerous side effects on the kidneys.
Why not try a period healing patch instead?
You can use this patch from Rael.
Once you stick it onto your underwear, it gently heats up and provides soothing therapy for up to 8 hours.
Even better, these patches are infused with jasmine oil, rose oil, and lemon oil to reduce bloating, ease abdominal discomfort, lift your mood, and boost your energy.
Much safer and super duper effective!
8. Use Tampons if you don’t like Menstrual Cups

GET ITEM HERE
Not every woman is comfortable using menstrual cups; I get it, okay.
I mean not everyone likes the idea of putting something that wide down there.
In that case, tampons can be a great alternative.
For one, they are disposable, which comes in very handy in public spaces since you don’t have to worry about washing a tampon.
Additionally, they tend to be more comfortable and easier to hide under certain outfits, where you just cannot afford to have any visible lines or bulges.
SHAVING CARE
9. Have a Shaving Routine

GET ITEM HERE
We cannot talk about feminine hygiene without talking about shaving.
Now, I know there’s a lot of controversy around women removing body hair.
Most of it stems from centuries of societal norms and patriarchal beauty standards telling us what’s “feminine” and what’s not.
This is not to say that having body hair makes you dirty or less feminine.
However, we also cannot deny that getting rid of body hair has its own benefits.
For instance, it reveals smoother skin, which feels fresher and more comfortable during hot weather or workouts.
Additionally, shaving can help reduce sweat and odor in areas like the armpits and the Lady V area, as hair tends to trap sweat and bacteria.
When it comes to shaving, the number one problem is usually irritation.
This is exactly why you need to have this razor among your feminine hygiene products.
It features a five-blade for a close, clean shave without irritation.
Do you know the best part? The blades are coated with hyaluronic acid and shea butter.
Yes, you heard that right: hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture and shea butter to nourish the skin.
Together, they help your skin stay hydrated and smooth, preventing bumps and razor burn.
10. Apply after Shave Oil to prevent Bumps

GET ITEM HERE
One of the main problems with shaving is dealing with those annoying after-shave bumps and ingrown hairs.
Especially those ingrown hairs! Urgghh! They are the absolute worsttt!
If you are part of the shaving community, you need an after-shave oil to apply to your skin after a shave.
Not only does it help restore hydration and soften your skin, but it also calms inflammation, heals razor bumps, and fights off ingrown hairs.
11. Try Laser Hair Removal

GET ITEM HERE
Apart from the bumps, cuts, and ingrown hairs that come with shaving.
Another problem that comes with shaving is that, it simply doesn’t last. Within a week, the hair grows back, often feeling even thicker, which means you have to go through the process all over again.
Another reason is that shaving doesn’t remove hair from the root, so it grows back faster and thicker.
Waxing, on the other hand, does pull hair out from the root and can help prevent ingrown hairs.
However, the pain? Let’s just say it’s not for the faint of heart.
I would say laser hair removal is the best option.
It’s a better, longer-lasting, and you don’t even have to visit a spa to get it done anymore.
Thanks to modern technology, there are now portable laser hair removal devices you can use at home.
They are gentle enough for sensitive areas, and with consistent use, it slows hair regrowth.
Over time, the new hair that grows in will be finer and softer, instead of thicker and coarser like with shaving.
12. Use Brow Razor To Define Your Brows

GET ITEM HERE
Someone once asked me at the office, “How do you always look like you have makeup on, even when you don’t?”
And my answer? Brow shaping.
Apart from the fact that it is part of feminine hygiene, brow shaping also frames the face beautifully, makes your eyes look bigger and more lifted, and gives you an instantly polished look.
Now, let me share my secret tips on how to look like I have makeup on even when I don’t.
Because, as we all know, wearing makeup every day is not the best for our skin.
First, start with your skincare: cleanse, tone, apply your serum, moisturize, and please, for the love of God don’t skip your sunscreen.
This gives your skin that fresh, healthy glow.
Kind of like as if you used a foundation or skin tint.
Next, shape your brows and brush them down with an eyebrow gel, using a spoolie brush to keep them neat and defined.
Finally, add a tinted lip balm to your lips for that pop of color and lip gloss for extra shine.
SKINCARE
13. Exfoliate Twice Or Three times A week

GET ITEM HERE
First, I would like to say this, exfoliation is very, I mean very important when it comes to achieving clear skin.
In fact, even if you are using a $1,000 body cream, and you are not exfoliating your skin, you are simply wasting your time and throwing your money in the bin.
Here is why.
Dead skin cells tend to accumulate on our skin, clogging our pores and making it impossible for your serums, moisturizers or any other skin treatment to penetrate your skin and do its work.
Think of it like pouring water into a pot with the lid still on.
At the end of the day, your skin looks dull, rough and uneven.
Now, you see why you need to exfoliate.
Body scrubs help remove these dead skin cells, revealing softer, smoother skin that’s ready to absorb all the goodness you’re feeding it.
Let me give you this feminine hygiene tip: look for a body scrub that doesn’t dry your skin out.
Instead, go for something rich in almond oil, jojoba oil, or shea butter to nourish your skin while exfoliating.
Finally, completely avoid heavily scented scrubs; the less the fragrance, the better, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Exfoliate twice or three times a week.
14. If Your Skin Is Sensitive, Use An Exfoliating Bar

GET ITEM HERE
We just discussed the benefits of body scrub, but let’s not act like it is the most convenient.
First off, you have to put in the work by probably massaging your skin and all that hard work.
On top of that, if you have sensitive skin, scrubs might actually do more harm than good, as they can irritate your skin even more.
So, if you are not a fan of scrubs and don’t have the time (or patience) for all that extra work, try an exfoliating bar soap instead.
Now don’t lather it on your skin and rinse off immediately, leave it on for at least one minute before you rinse off.
Also do not leave it for too long either: maximum 2 minutes and then rinse off.
Ensure you patch test and start with the shortest time like 30 seconds, then build up from there (that is only if your skin tolerates it)
Another important tip I would give you is that you should gently massage an exfoliation bar on a damp skin, in order to activate the ingredients, thereby making it more effective.
15. Hydrate Your Skin

GET ITEM HERE
I heard that some people with oily skin believe they don’t need moisturizer just because their skin produces more oil.
Who even started this lie? I just want to talk.
Oily is not the same as hydrated.
In fact, when you skip moisturizer simply because your skin feels oily, you are actually making things 10× worse.
Because your skin will try to compensate for the lack of moisture by producing even more oil.
This excess oil can clog your pores, mix with bacteria, and cause breakouts.
That is why, regardless of your skin type, you absolutely need to moisturize.
In addition to keeping your skin hydrated, but it also strengthens your skin barrier, and once that barrier is damaged, your skin becomes more vulnerable to irritation and inflammation.
Like, forget about achieving clear, healthy skin if your skin barrier is compromised.
Just like other aspects of feminine hygiene, moisturizing is a daily ritual that should never be skipped.
BATH AND BODY
16. Cleanse Your Body Regularly

GET ITEM HERE
This is how to properly wash yourself after a long day.
It’s important to make this part of your night routine, especially after your skin has been exposed to sweat, dirt, germs, and other impurities throughout the day.
Maintaining good feminine hygiene starts with a thorough cleansing.
First, begin by washing your body with an antibacterial bar soap and either a Korean sponge or an African net sponge.
Throw away those wash clothes or silicone body scrubbers: because they do nothing when it comes to properly cleaning your skin.
Especially those silicone body scrubbers: like, whose idea was it to start using those “body scrubbers” to shower in the first place?
Anyways, get yourself a Korean or African net sponge.
This helps to remove the dirt and germs and keeps your skin fresh.
Now use your body wash to deeply cleanse, nourish, and hydrate your skin.
If it happens to be your exfoliation day, follow up with a gentle body scrub or exfoliating bar soap.
17. Apply Body Cream To Restore Lost Moisture After Cleansing

GET ITEM HERE
After cleansing your body, it tends to lose moisture and feel dry.
That is why, right after you just had a bath, most especially after exfoliating, your skin tends to feel tight and dry like a desert.
Now, at this point, you have to restore that lost moisture by applying a hydrating body cream.
Apply the body cream, when your skin is still damp.
This helps to seal in even more moisture to your skin.
Your skin gets to feel hydrated, plump, soft, and fresh, and over time, even your skin tone starts to improve.
ORAL CARE
18. Brush Twice A Day

GET ITEM HERE
Oral health is very important when it comes to feminine hygiene.
Being a pretty girl with a foul breath is not pleasant at all.
So you need to brush twice a day.
Once in the morning before eating, once in the night after eating.
19. Keep Your Breath Fresh By Scraping Your Tongue Daily

GET ITEM HERE
Scraping your tongue helps to remove buildup from food particles and dead cells, which in turn can cause mouth odor.
Therefore, making tongue scraping a part of your daily feminine hygiene is essential.
For best results, scrape your tongue twice daily, preferably before eating in the morning and after eating at night.
However, be careful not to scrape too hard, as this can irritate your tongue.
20. Don’t Skip Flossing For A Healthier Teeth

GET ITEM HERE
As much as brushing is great, it’s important to know that there are areas your toothbrush simply cannot reach.
When food particles and bacteria get trapped between your teeth, they can cause, you already know: BAD BREATH
Which is why flossing is so important.
Flossing can help to remove buildup that can prevent gum disease and cavities.
From my experience, electric flossers are much more effective than traditional ones.
Not only do they make it easier to reach those tricky areas, but they also clean gently and require less effort.
21. Brighten Your Smile At Home With Whitening Strips

GET ITEM HERE
Instead of always going to a dentist, you can whiten your teeth using whitening strips from the comfort of your home.
However, this doesn’t mean you should skip your regular dental checkups.
22. Strengthen Your Teeth with Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste

GET ITEM HERE
I have been using toothpastes that contain hydroxyapatite, and I have been hooked.
From personal experience, as someone who has suffered from toothaches, I can confidently say it is a much better option than fluoride toothpaste.
These toothpastes don’t just clean your teeth, but they also strengthen the tooth enamel.
Additionally, they help stimulate gum collagen and prevent cavities.
Just try it once and thank me later.
23. Boost Your Oral Health With Oil Pulling

GET ITEM HERE
If you haven’t started oil pulling, then are you really cleaning your teeth?
In case you don’t know what oil pulling is, it is a practice where you swish a small amount of oil around your mouth for about 10–20 minutes, then spit it out.
While it doesn’t replace brushing or flossing, it improves your dental health by reducing inflammation, preventing tooth decay, and freshening your breath.
My favorite oils to use are coconut and olive oil.
Here’s a little secret: if you want whiter teeth, oil pulling is your girl.
HAIR CARE
24. Choose A Washing Schedule That Suits Your Hair

GET ITEM HERE
Washing your hair is one of the most crucial aspects of feminine hygiene.
Your hair is your crown, so you have to take good care of it.
Start by avoiding shampoos with sulfates, parabens, silicones, and alcohols, as they tend to strip your hair of its natural oils, causing breakage and hindering healthy hair growth.
That said, washing your hair isn’t a one-size-fits-all.
What works for one person might not work for another.
For some, washing their hair every day is perfect because their hair gets oily easily.
Others may find that twice a week works best, and some only need to wash their hair twice or thrice a month.
First, know the porosity and type of hair you have.
Then, choose the washing schedule that works best for your hair.
And please, dirty hair does not make your hair grow longer, wash your hair, ma’am!
25. Moisturize Your Hair To Prevent Breakage

GET ITEM HERE
The main reason your hair isn’t retaining its new growth is that you are not moisturizing it enough.
That’s why your hair still stuck at the same length.
Just like your skin, your hair needs consistent moisture.
Additionally, deep conditioning helps repair damaged hair, prevent split ends, and strengthen and nourish your strands.
Your hair is not unmanageable, you just need to moisturize it more.
26. Seal In the Moisture With Hair Oil

GET ITEM HERE
Oiling your hair helps to lock in all that moisture.
After shampooing, deep conditioning, and applying a leave-in conditioner, seal in all that goodness with a nourishing hair oil.
This step ensures your hair stays hydrated, soft, and healthy.
Also if you want your hair to grow longer, massage your hair with a oil for at least 30 minutes, twice a day.
And no this is not something you do once in a while, you have to do this everyday.
Massaging your scalp with hair oil will help stimulate blood vessels on that area, thereby bringing oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles: which causes rapid hair growth.
27. Lock In Moisture Using A Leave-In Conditioner

GET ITEM HERE
After washing, your hair tends to feel dry and frizzy.
So restore that moisture by applying a leave-in conditioner.
FRAGRANCE
28. Make Your Fragrance Last Longer With Body Mist

GET ITEM HERE
Spray your body mist after showering and moisturizing with a body cream.
This helps the scent to last longer because your skin is hydrated and can hold fragrance for longer.
29. Spray Your Perfume On Your Pulse Points To Make It Last Longer

GET ITEM HERE
Feminine hygiene tip: fragrance edition.
Spray your perfume on your pulse points.
Where are they? You may ask.
They are wrists, behind your ears, inside your elbows, behind your knees, the side of your neck, and finally the back of your shoulder.
One spray per pressure point is enough.
Also, please avoid rubbing your wrist together after spraying.
You are going to break down the scent and prevent it from lasting longer
30. Apply A Thin Layer Of Vaseline On Your Pulse Points Before Spraying Your Perfume

GET ITEM HERE
Another tip for making your perfume last longer is to apply a thin layer of vaseline to your pulse points before applying the perfume.
And if you want people to fall head over heels for you, spray a spicy scent first and then layer it with a floral scent like Miss Dior.
Works like magic.
Btw, these perfume fragrances will make people obsessed with you.
31. Use Your Deodorant At Night Before Going To Bed

GET ITEM HERE
If you want your deodorant to be more effective, use it at night after bathing.
This works because your sweat glands are less active while you sleep, allowing the deodorant to absorb better and form a protective layer, reducing odour the next day.
So for your final feminine hygiene tip, make applying a deodorant your night time routine.
